Travel Information
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) consists of KIT-Campus North (formerly Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe) and the KIT Campus South (Universität Karlsruhe, TH) which are about 10 kilometres apart. Whereas the Campus South is in the centre of Karlsruhe, the Campus North is located north of Karlsruhe in the former hunting grounds of Margrave Karl Wilhelm (founder of Karlsruhe) close to Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen.
The workshop hotel "AkademieHotel" ist sited in a southern urban district of Karlsruhe in a modern living area.

By plane
If you arrive by plane, you will most likely arrive in Frankfurt (Main).
Make your way to the on-site train station (Fernbahnhof). There is an ICE train connection to Karlsruhe once every hour. Every other hour the connection is direct, otherwise you need to switch trains in Mannheim. The train ride takes about 65 minutes. See section By train on how to reach the meeting venue.
Another close airport is Stuttgart. You have to use the subway/tram connecting the airport with Stuttgart main station. All available lines at the airport go to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). From the station, several trains per hour (ICE or IC) go directly to Karlsruhe main station. See section By train on how to reach the meeting venue.
By train
You will arrive at Karlsruhe main station. If you want to use public transportation to the AkademieHotel make your way to the north exit. Use Line S1 or Line S11 towards Ettlingen, Bad Herrenalb or Ittersbach. Get off the train at the station Schloß Rüppurr. See DB Bahn conpany and public transport plan for details.
If you exit at Schloss Rüppurr, you are at the intersection Herrenalber Straße and Am Rüppurrer Schloß. Cross the main street (Herrenalber Str.) and make your way East on Am Rüppurrer Schloss until you reach after about 400 m the AkademieHotel on the right side.
Alternatively you can use a taxi to go from the main station to the hotel. Taxis can be found on both the north and south exit of the main station. The hotel is closer and easier to reach from the south exit. The cab ride should take about 5 to 10 minutes. The address of the hotel is AkademieHotel, Am Rüppurrer Schloß 40.
